Waukesha County Seniors Monday Golf League

SEASON  STARTS

May 5

  We're on our way!

  And what a gorgeous day it was.   Well, I suppose any thing better than what we've been having would have been OK.  It was in the 50's when our first foursome teed off and by noon it was nearing 70.  Can't ask for anything better than that.

  But, unfortunately, we only fielded 121 golfers and that's a shame.  Maybe I'm a bit frugal, but I hated to write a check that included the 19 spots that were vacant.  With a little more effort I'm sure there are alternates out there that would have been happy to play on such a nice day.

  In any case, the ones that didn't show up were the big losers -- both financially and for missing ideal playing weather.  (You noticed that I didn't say "ideal playing conditions".  Although the recent rain really helped, the last three greens on the back nine could not be called "greens", that's for sure!)

Hole #11: Longest Putt -- Don Kahl

Hole #12: Longest Drive -- Howie Hoerl
Hole #16: Closest with 1st shot -- Bob Peacy

A Reminder:  A golfer is eligible to win only one event (closest to pin, long drive, etc.) in any three round period, so please do not put your name on an event tag if you're not permitted to win.  (See  League  Policies .)
